Mona doesn't look up at either Carl or the guard from her perch on Celine's shoulder. She just wants to curl up somewhere and die. My daddy is dead. My best friend ever is dead. Her tears continue to fall.

END COMBAT:
OCC: you may resume posting as normal.

Celine is able to successfully get Mona out the door and down the street a fair distance before she stops and sets her down on her feet to catch her breath.

Damien uses the opportunity and checks Mona over carefully before taking a deep breath and looking at Celine with a dire expression.
“I’m going back to help Magnus, we can’t just leave him there. You get Mona back to the manor house, while I go back for him.”

Carl grabs Damien by the shirt and pulls him close, anger flaring in his eyes. He stands between Damien, Celine and Mona.
“Just who the hell are you people anyway?”
He looks Celine up and down and gives her a wide berth,
“Who the hell is this Lord Magnus, I saw what happened back there, I know what you are. Give me one good reason I shouldn’t hunt you all down and kill you like the undead vermin you are.”
Carl pushes Damien and backs away, his eyes challenge both of them and he pulls Mona back against him.
“She’s coming with me, she doesn’t need the likes of you people.”

Mona holds onto Carl and buries her face onto his shoulder. She mumbles through her tears, "Carl. Magnus is daddy's friend. I..." she doesn't finish as fresh tears burst forth and Mona collapses to her knees and buries her face in her hands.

Celine looks at Carl and says "I am not undead, I am cursed. But I have lived with it for a long time and in that time I killed many undead and evil beasts that prey on the innocent and weak".

She looks at Mona with a deep sorrowful face "we need to get you back to the manor, you saw that thing in there. There will be more of them just as big and bad and we will do our best to stop them but we cannot stop that thing, we can keep her safe at the manor as there are more of us and well strength in numbers".

Celine gently takes Mona's hand "come Mona we need to get you to safety, she stands up and looks at Carl "if you love her you will not stop us, please let her go".

PostSubject: Re: Chapter 1: Party Crashers    Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 EmptyThu Jan 31, 2013 1:19 pm

Damien took a deep breath and pulled his fist back and clocked Carl across the jaw. Instantly he falls to ground unconscious.
“We really don’t have time for this. . .” he said plainly. “. . . Don’t worry, he’ll be fine, but he can’t follow us to the manor, and quite frankly I don’t trust him.”
Damien walked over and picked Mona up, throwing her over his shoulder,
“We need to move now. Magnus bought us time, and as much as I want to go back and help him, the important thing is getting her back to the manor to safety.”
Damien looked at Celine and then started walking down the street to the Manor House, his eyes baring the look of worried man, worried the Magnus might now return.

End Scene.

Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chapter 1: Party Crashers    Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 EmptyThu Jan 31, 2013 2:49 pm

Flanaess Date: Readying 5, 579cy CY.
Location: City of Greyhawk: Mordent Manor
Weather: 47 degrees, temperature
Sky: Overcast
Precipitation: None
Time: 8:45pm in the Evening
Sunrise: 6:52am
Sunset: 5:33pm

Damien walked into the Entry way of Mordent Manor and took a deep breath. It was nice to be home again. He looked around and enjoyed the sweet smell of the Manor. The entry-way was nothing more than a good sized room made of stone and marble with several tapestries all hanging on the walls. It still made him smile though. He was still holding Mona over his shoulder as he took her through the massive banquet room, which had a massive long table stretching the length of the room and a bar at the other end. From there he proceeded to go to take her to the common room. The common room was sparse compared to the rest of the manor, as it contain just a few leather chairs and some book shelves, but it served his purposes and he rather preferred it to the massive study anyway.

Damien laid Mona down on the sofa and took a step back.
“You’ll be fine here for now. Magnus will hopefully return as soon as possible.”
Damien hoped beyond all reason the statement was true.
“I’m sorry about Carl, but you need to understand something. It’s safer for him right now if he doesn’t know where you are until we can get this figured out. The less he knows, the safer he is. They won’t bother him as long as they think he doesn’t know anything.”
He looked over his shoulder hearing the door open and looked as Mathew walked in.
“Mathew. . .” he said “. . . this is Lady Mona Silverkin.”
His eyes turned from Mathew to Mona and back again.
“She’ll be our guest for a little while. She’s been through a lot, so if you could get her a drink, I’d appreciate it.”

Mathew smiled and walked over to her nodding.
“Sure,” he said “It’s a pleasure to have a new guest here.”
Without missing a beat, he proceeded to turn on his heels and walked out the door, heading to the bar to fetch the new young lady a drink.

Damien turned back to Mona and sat down in a chair that was across from her. Taking a deep breath he looked back up at Celine and simply sighed.
“Magnus?”

Celine looked at Damien with concern on her face, she too was worried for Magnus but she also knew you do not live for 7,000 years and not learn a thing or two about survival. "how messy will this get Damien, are we going to have a war with these beasts".

Celine tried not to think of what may happen if these demons start a war, will they have the resources to fight a war. There was so much doubt and so few answers, where was Magnus, was he ok.

Mona barely listened as Damien spoke, she only nodded. Whether that was because she understood what he said or it was an automatic reaction was hard to say. She still felt hollow and her internal pain seemed to radiate through her whole body. Mona accepted the very watered down wine from Matthew with a soft "Thank you" and began to sip at it. After several sips she finally began to look around her, but she still seemed stunned.

"Hey how are you doing there" Celine whispers to Mona, the night had been one massive shocker to her and right now she would need a friend, if Celine was to be that friend then so be it. Besides she actually liked the girl, she reminded her of herself at the same age.

"I will stay with her until she comes round, is there a room we can give y'know her own room so she can have some privacy"? Celine asked Damien.

Mona finishes her watered wine and looked around at those before her and gave a weak smile, "Thank you all. For everything. A room and a bath would be wonderful. Suddenly I feel extremely tired." As if to punctuate this, she covered her mouth as she yawned loudly. Then looking down at her dress, "Well, I won't be needing this anymore." Her dress was beyond repair - wrinkled, torn and soiled had ruined any recognition of a party dress. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, trying to comb it out. Still, even going through these everyday motions, she found herself staring off into the distance, just lost in thought.

PostSubject: Re: Chapter 1: Party Crashers    Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 EmptyFri Feb 01, 2013 12:37 am

His voice was silent and it seemed to break the tension in the room almost instantly. No one heard or saw him come in, so when he spoke, it seemed to come out of nowhere.
“How is she?”
Magnus was standing there in the door his human form, naturally jet black hair coming off of him as it always had.

Mathew nearly dropped the whiskey he had gotten for himself and turned his head to meet Magnus,
“GOD DAMN IT MAN!”
He said yelling and laughing at the same time,
“Quit doing that shit. . .” Mathew shook his hand waving the little bit of whiskey he had spilled on his hand off.
“I swear to god man,”

Magnus chuckled and patted Mathew on the shoulder,
“Sorry my friend, you know I enjoy doing that to you entirely to much.”

Mathew sneered and shook his head, the fact his boss could sneak up on him and scare him like that; when he was a former well know thief and assassin was quite disconcerting to say the least.

Damien was smiling as he sat looking at Mona,
“Yes I think she’ll be fine.” He looked up at Celine and took a deep breath. “Yes, go ahead and put her in her father’s old room, she’ll have the lounge then too, plus it might make her feel better knowing she’s in the same room he slept in when he stayed here.”
Damien shrugged
“Plus I believe his stuff is still in there as well. So anything in there is now hers anyway.”

Mona jumped up when Mangus' voice was heard and managed to control herself whle Matthew and he traded words, but finally she rushed over to him and hugged him, resting her head on his chest. "Oh thank the gods, you're ok. I didn't lose everyone to that....thing." Finally realizing what she was doing and that Magnus might not think it appropriate, she jerked away from him and ran her hands down her dress, trying to act as if nothing happened. Then Damien spoke and her eyes filled with tears again. "Daddy's room? I don't think..." She hid her face in her hands, but didn't cry as hard as before.

Magnus smiled when Mona hugged him and rested a hand on her shoulder,
“It’s o.k. dear.” He said softly, much like a caring father would.
He glanced at Damien and shook his head,
“Hey, Damien. . .” Magnus shot him a look “. . .chill!”
Magnus’s eyes just stared at Damien for a brief moment and then he broke the momentary silence.
“No tact man, did it occur to you it might make things worse?”

Damien looked up at Mona, then to Magnus and looked confused,
“why?” he said quietly.

Magnus rolled his eyes,
“We’ll put her on the other side; she’ll be more comfortable there anyway.”
(second floor, room 60)
Magnus took a step forward and gave Mona a hug, pulling her close.
“It takes a lot more than that to bring me down after seven thousand years”
Magnus's hands rested on her shoulders and he smiled, his voice was soft again, radiating fatherly love.
"Your more than safe here, you'll be fine."
His eye brows raised suddenly and he looked at her with a small smile.
"would you like to meet your little sister?"

Celine gave a visible sigh of relief when Magnus enters the room, she had been initially worried but also knew that there was little chance that he could be totally destroyed as his casket was here and to get to it they would have to breach the security.

"I will take you up when you are ready Mona, if you wish to visit your fathers room I can escort you but you do not have to if you do not wish to".

Mona wiped her tears away and actually smiled - a little - when Magnus mentioned her sister. She had just about forgotten. "Camilla? Yes, please. I would like that. Has she ever known my daddy as her daddy? Has she ever been told of her parentage?" Mona shook her head, "No, probably not. She is still too young."

Mona then turned to Celine, "I'll go with you to my room after meeting with Camilla, but I imagine it won't be for a while yet." Mona gave another small smile again at the thought of meeting her sister.

Celine says "as you wish Mona, Magnus I will wash and change while Mona meets Camilla and see what clothes we have for Mona".

With that Celine leaves the room and heads off to her room, she speaks with the maid as she passes her "could you get me some hot water please Artyice and some towels. She heads into her room (56) and flops onto the bed what a night, I hope I do not have to do that again in a hurry. She rises when the maid comes with the water then washes and changes into some clean attire, making her way down stairs she asks Bridgit for some food.

Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chapter 1: Party Crashers    Chapter 1: Party Crashers - Page 4 EmptyThu Feb 07, 2013 4:01 pm

Flanaess Date: Readying 5, 579cy CY.
Location: City of Greyhawk: Mordent Manor
Weather: 47 degrees, temperature
Sky: Overcast
Precipitation: None
Time: 8:57pm in the Evening
Sunrise: 6:52am
Sunset: 5:33pm

Mona:
Sariana Pettan entered the room almost on cue, as if she knew she was needed. Ms Pettan; one of the servants of Mordent Manor is a small petite woman with long blonde hair and a soft voice. She had the sixth sense of somehow knowing exactly what was to be needed and when. As Lord Mordent had required, all of the servants were always dressed in the finest clothing, as Ms. Pettan was dressed in a fine silken gold dress. Her voice carried softly as she looked across the room to where Mona was and she smiled sweetly to the young woman.

“Ms. Silverkin.” She said sweetly “Your sister awaits you this way.”
Sariana led the way out of the Common room into the kitchen and around the hall. As she ascended the stairs she turned her head back around to Mona and smiled.
“Do not worry, it’s easy to get lost in this place, it has more twists and turns than you can imagine.”
Sariana’s voice was kind and soft.
“Lord Magnus has charged me with making sure you get acclimated okay, and do not get lost. So anything you need, all you have to do is ask me.”
She smiled again as she led her to the library.
“You are allowed to go anywhere on the grounds or in the house, except into the basement level and to the fourth floor.”
She smiled sweetly
“Those areas’s are off limits without an escort.”
Sariana entered into the library and held the door open for Mona.

The Library was a massive room, filled with tons of books lining every wall. An elaborate hand carved staircase on either side led to the upper level’s which give way to a family room and reading area on the second floor. The room was filled with more books than a person could read in a lifetime, and even more on smaller shelves that lined the center of the room as well. The whole room was lit my magically burning torches.

Sariana smiled as she entered and pointed to the center of the room where sitting at a table, was a young girl no more than five years old with long emerald green hair. At first glance, without knowing the child’s heritage it would have been easy to assume that the child was of elvish heritage, but knowing her birth mother, it was easy to see why Lord Silverkin had chosen the path he had.
“Her name is Camilla,” she said softly, “I’ll leave you two alone for a while, I’ll be right outside if you need me.”

Camilla was sitting at a table drawing on some parchment and smiling to herself as she played. She didn’t even see the two women enter. . . .

Celine:

Magnus waited until Mona was well out of the room before he turned his attention to Damien, Mathew and Celine.
“Okay, listen carefully, Red Wolf and Selene will be back any moment from their patrol of the docks district.”
Magnus wasted no time in getting down to business.
“Celine, you and Damien make them aware of everything that has happened tonight when they get back. Make sure they get a full report on the situation. We’ll be doing some light recon work in the morning at Silverkin manor.”

Damien looked up
“No doubt the city guards are already all over that place, I’m sure its crawling with people by now.”

Magnus nodded
“Yes, they won’t find Lord Silverkin though. I brought his body back with me,”
He paused and just shook his head
“Well what was left of it anyway.”
Magnus headed for the door,
“I’ll be placing him in the crypt tonight with the others. His final resting place will be among his family, I won’t have it any other way.”

Magnus had lost plenty of family and friends over the years, so a special section of his crypt had been designated for fallen members of the Hallowed Circle. It was Magnus’s intention to inter Lord Silverkin among them. It was after all where Silverkin had buried his wife as well.

Magnus looked up and shook his head as he walked out of the door. The night had been long and tiresome, and it was still just getting started.

Redwolf:

Selene Darksky and Redwolf had been assigned the nightly patrol of the Docks district; as such it wasn’t uncommon to find trouble in some varying degree or another. However tonight had been a relatively quiet night, much to Selene’s chagrin. Selene was the only Weretiger in the Hallowed Circle that followed Magnus, (although she wasn’t the only lycanthrope). Magnus had been paring the two of them together more and more because they both seemed to have a knack for finding trouble, and they both seemed to enjoy it when they did. It was a good match that Magnus had found worked well, and he knew since both of them were relatively new, they would be able to learn from each other quite well.

Selene was one of the younger members of the Circle and had only recently come into the fold of the Hallowed Circle, only a short time before Red Wolf had. She was still young and inexperienced, but her lack of knowledge about what she was, and about what she had become and the offer of help from Lord Magnus was something that she simply couldn’t turn down.

At first Selene was deeply afraid of who and what she was, but through time and with Magnus’s help she came to realize how her new form and abilities could be used to help people, and wasn’t the curse that she had been led to believe it was.

Redwolf was a different matter altogether. Aside from Mathew, he was the only other truly ‘human’ member of the Hallowed Circle. Redwolf had come into Magnus almost completely by accident. As he had been hunting the vampire for almost 6 months before news came to him that his entire tribe had been wiped out.

Redwolf was a Viking by birth, and a proud one at that. Recently however, the Viking people had been suffering under the banner of the Scarlet Brotherhood, and it was the brotherhood that had hunted and killed the man’s entire family and tribe. It wasn’t until Magnus met him on that day that Redwolf truly realized what kind of man Lord Magnus Mordent really was.

Redwolf had been captured by the Brotherhood and would most likely have died, if Magnus had not intervened and saved the very man that had been trying to hunt him. Despite the fact Magnus never felt he was in any real danger from the Redwolf, he still saved him from the clutches of the Scarlet Brotherhood and brought him back to Greyhawk. It was Redwolf that felt he owed Magnus a life debt, but it was Magnus who assured Redwolf that the Scarlet Brotherhood would be made to pay for their crimes against the Viking people.

When Selene and Redwolf finally returned to the Manor, it was almost 9 at night. Despite Selene’s disappointment, no trouble had been found. Everything on the docks had been eerily quiet that night. As the two of them entered the main foyer of the manor, Selene’s voice broke a long silence that had begun since they left the docks district. The Manor was lit up, as it had always been at night, and the servants were busy about their business.
“. . . well that was an incredibly huge waste of time.” Selene smiled only halfway and sighed, “. . .I was really hoping for something, anything more than that.”

The Tall Galfius Madenard, the butler was already at the door to greet the pair as they walked in.
“Good Evening, Lady Darksky. Lord Redwolf.”
Madenard gave a slight bow as the pair entered.
“Lord Damien and Lady Celine are already awaiting you in the common room.”

Mona froze as she entered the library, her breath completely taken away. All these books. Oh my. Incredible. As Sariana continued talking, Mona reluctantly tore her eyes away from such a treasure and focused on the girl.

Mona slowly approached the girl, and smiled as she watched her happily drawing. When she was just a few steps away from the table, Mona spoke up, "Hi Camilla. What are you drawing?" Mona sat down next to her and smiled.

Celine sat watching the flames as Damien poured her a drink, "what a fucking mess Damien. That poor kid has lost everything in just a few short minutes", Celine accepts the drink off Damien and he kisses her forehead not as a sexual prelude but more for comfort as he knew she valued family more than anything.

She tried to think of how she was going to help Mona get over this, she also had to think of a way to tell Selene and Redwolf. Where do you start "oh hello you to a funny thing happened tonight", she could see their faces now and neither had been here that long so what they would think of the revelation.

Red Wolf stood in the parlor with Selene and nodded to her comment and smiled and said
"you have to still learn patience on the hunt red-stripe fang .'' his personal nickname for her.
Red Wolf's life had been one of constant change the past year the night-walker Mordent had seen to that. His clan of the Asgardian people had heard rumors of a Vampire stalking the highlands and sent him to hunt it down as a test to see if he was worthy to lead after his father
Grimm Wolf Silversteelsson jouneyed to Valhalla. Red Wolf was a tall muscular man with crimson hair and a musuclar form and a smile and gleam in his savage eyes that most thought reminded them of a great predator that roamed the veldt, his clothes were simple leather pants and a wolf-fur cloak which concealed hiswarhammer great-axe and crossbow which had the mark of Asgardian workmanship. He had been tracking Mordent for half a great season when the Scarlet Brotherhood had sent slavers and butchers to his Fathers great hall and destoyed the Silversteel tribe capturing him as a prize slave and he fought in their damned arenas until Mordent the night-walker the very man he was supposed to kill saved him . He wore a manicle with the mark of the Scarlet Brotherhood and three loops of chain on his right wrist as a reminder of the life-debt owed to Mordent and as a vow of revenge
for his slaughtered people and as a worshipper of Thor the one thing the Asgardian knew best
was war .
